The thing thats stupid is that obviously no one here has a komodo dragon (that they know of, stupid KD spies!) but the few random tards say komodo dragon keeping very serious, blahblah, its illegal, blahblah. All the people who’ve said stupid stuff like that need to get a grip and realize this forum is literally a JOKE!

Why is it illegal for good breeders like, say, PHpets get Komodos and try to breed them? I don’t really understand unless governments are trying to get them extinct on purpose.... (??)

Dangerous? I keep 20+ foot pythons that could squezze me to death in an instant. I have friends who keep porosus and nile crocs weighing almost 1000 pounds and one even has a lion, i know of people who keep King cobras and vipers... Exactly how are komodos more dangerous than all these true "heavy-weights" of danger?
You can’t get a komodo because they are endangered, not because they are dangerous. That’s the reason! But if you can’t get to be the owner of one, why should you care???? would you finance a private breeding project so that you could just return them to the wild again?? Of course not, nobody is that stupid. Unless you get a market around it, where you can make profit, you are not going to care.... well, some breeders would like to try it and that could open a new market and actually save the komodo on the process. But it won’t happen because the Indonesian government is too stubborn about it and keeps K.dragons untouchable.

Komodos live stranded on those islands in poor conditions. Big prey are rare so most big males are turning up dead from starvation. Only the smaller ones (who eat small prey) are eating fairly ok, as a result only the "small" gene is being passed on. The Komodo dragon will be about half their usual size in a few generations time. THIS is the reality about K.Dragons on those islands! To save the Komodo is urgent that they hit the pet market as soon as possible. This is not a joke, it’s my real opinion.
