Depends on where you live and exactly which species or subspecies of lacerta you’re talking about - a ’lacerta’ isn’t just one lizard, it’s a group of dozens or hundreds of species.

In Britain, for example, it is illegal to keep Lacerta agilis agilis (Sand Lizard) without a permit - it’s even illegal to go to a wild population to photograph them without the permit... but it is legal to keep Lacerta agilis exigua (Russian Sand Lizard, a related subspecies) without any sort of specific legal requirements.
