Aren’t they the same as snakes?
if they dont have legs then arent they snakes?
arent reptiles all the same and classified by appendages?

No they are different in many ways

slow worms have eye lids un-like snakes
They are not as agile as snake
They can’t dislocate their jaw like a snake


I’ve probably missed so more key differences, but they are a lizard and not a snake


The thing that always amazes me with slow worms it how the female can give birth to so many live young, I’ve seen 15 youngest come out of 1 female

No, it’s still evolution. Over time, there must have been some advantage to losing the legs for this animal. Evolution simply means "changes over time", which can mean losing things just as well as gaining things.

well my theory with nsakes is that they lost theyre legbs and arms when food supply was scarce and they needed to use less energy to survive.

Legless lizards have external ears as well as eyelids, unlike snakes. They are also a lot shorter and stubbier, and will drop their tails just like their counterparts with legs.

people these days are really smart.....even i know and im 11.anyways they have external ears, visible eyelids, a flap of skin that goes along their side, and their belly scales are smaller.
