Why do they call them legless lizards, why dont they just call them snakes???

because snakes are snakes... If you know what you are looking at you would know. A lizard is a lizard and a snake is a snake, yes the legless lizards don’t have legs and they have long slender bodies like a snake would, but if you look at the head, it’s not the same, legless lizards can also drop their tails, like many other lizards can do.

no i have never heard of a legless lizard climbing trees--actually they do the opposite and burrono a legless lizard has eyelids that are visible,a flap of skin on their side,ear openings, the scales are arranged a different way, they can drop their tail very easily,and their heads are very different;more lizard-like.
