My legless lizard gave birth to her baby yesterday. Here are some quick photos I snapped.

Fish and game told me that only the black ones are protected against collecting. He(a worker at the local fish and game office) also told me that a lot of people don’t recognize the black ones as a separate species but the state has chosen to(he heard that they were trying to . Its threatened but not protected. Also apparently you can’t collect over a certain number of them with out special permission and under no circumstances can they be sold.

The man was very knowledgeable and I’m surprised he put up with all the questions I was asking him.


Just a Heads up.
Don’t trust anything you hear on these forums(mainly regarding uncommon reptiles such as the legless lizard), its just a bunch of rumors and false information thrown around by people who know nothing. If you want real answers then go to your local Fish and Game/Native Specialists and ask them questions.
