I don’t know if this helps but i have heard that they are a protected species,not sure if it’s true or not, but if i caught one i would want to keep it to.

Hi, me again, just been on the BBC website and searched for slow worms, it has a page on them and it says they are protected under the wildlife act from being inured,sold or killed but nothing about keeping them as pets.

I’ve caught a slow worm and kept it, but i was saving it from chavs, they were gonna kill it! I set it free after about a month.

It is legal to do so, but you’ll need to make sure you have the appropriate equipment set up.

I find that my slow worms do not eat if they are not provided with UVB lighting from fluorescent bulbs designed specially for reptiles.

yeah, sum stupid chav brougth one into school on my last day of year a 11 a month or so ago, and the poor thing was in a brown paper bag, i asked him why he brought it into school and he said, i cant leave it at home, other wise my dog will get it, poor thing, probebrly didnt have a viv or anything!!

Ugh... I am a chavs worst nightmare they think they’re being smart but killing a lil harmless slow worm and i bet i no y they pick on a slow worm... Bacause it cant defend itself...
