Mealworms are inexpensive and easy to keep. Refriderate until 24 hours b4 use and gutload. They may be fed from a worm dish. After one day, put them back and put in fresh gutloaded mealies. Crickets are very nutritious but harder to keep and have an odor. Silkworms are not always available and are very expensive. They are very nutritious. These are the main ones. Best Wishes |

The best insects for your leo would depend on what your feeding the insects as well...a healthier worm full of vitamins is better then any. The BEST nutrition for your leo is one of variety. Right now I’m feeding Skittles a couple mealworms (whatever ones just shed) and a couple silk worms every day along with a waxworm and butterworm every couple days. The silkworms are being fed wet silkworm chow available at canadianfeeders.com and the wax and butters are eating chicken mash while the mealworms are eating alfalfa, bee pollen, and carrots. |
