I don’t think that Dee nor I would consider trying to save some eggs as an interruption. If your eggs are denting you don’t have enough humidity in the incubator, hence water is leaving the egg and it is drying out. To stop this from happening, you add more water a little at a time. I know some breeders say a 1:1 ratio of substance to water. Since I don’t know how you started your incubation I can’t give specific add two teaspoons of water, but I can say add a little at a time. Do you happen to know the humidity in the incubator right now?

you finally responded. I called my cousin who’s doing some small scale breeding (my mom’s gecko’s are from him) I was told if they have dented (especially lots) you’ve already lost them. I wish someoen else would respond becuase I’ve never tried incubating yet since I just got my leo on Sunday. Have you looked online for answers?

you can do a 1:1 ratio or a 1:.8 vermiculite to water ratio that is. what are you using to incubate? as long as you keep the vermiculite/water mix in a 3x10 Tupperware without any holes in it and once a week open the top briefly to allow air exchange and keep your incubator set higher that 78 i believe, you should have no problems. I’m using a DIY incubator method and all 4 of my eggs are doing great. getting plump and ready to hatch soon. preparation is the key to success.

Thank you Srieger,

I know the information, I’ve read quite a bit of the information and done my research. Still shaky on how I’m going to set mine up, but since my Temper doesn’t seem yet to be developing eggs (and since I rescued her from an enclosure with a male) I can’t be 100% certain until the first month is up. Without the practical application of the knowledge I do not feel 1005 comfortable giving the advice unless I can say I’ve done this or I’ve seen this process used all the way through and it worked!

Thanks

Ed

And Dee sorry for hi-jacking your post. You look at the names yet?

I have raised a clutch of bearded dragons before...used vermiculite, damp enough to where you can pinch it & it stays together. Also for humidity, put a small shot glass of water in the incubator or a small container of water to keep the humidity up. Whatever you do, dont mist the eggs.

Dee
