 Enigma Issues?

Okay, I know most of you may not have Enigmas, but anyone who does, please post. I have read quite a couple threads on another site about Enigmas acting weird, continuously circling, head tilting, and missing food for some individuals. It seems this problem may be hereditary to some, while the same clutchmate isn’t affected at all. This site that I’m talking about has a couple of breeders willing to donate Enigmas with and without the problem to a professional at these things for further study. We are almost positive that it is triggered with stress, but it’s not 100%. I’m wondering if anyone has an Enigma that has this problem. Most often than not, they’ll outgrow this. If anyone has any opinions or suggestions, then please post. We’re thinking of Vestibular, or ear canal problems. Thanks!

 Enigma Issues?

i dont have enigmas but it sounds interesting. does duane have any? hes the only person on here that might have some i think.
keep us posted! to me it sounds like s stress triggered birth defect.. a lot of continuous line breeding (or inbreeding.. whichever you prefer) results in mega weird stuff.
i have a gecko that walks a little funky, has a head tilt, and cant hunt well, but thats due to having her head chomped on as a baby by a full grown leo.. any head trauma along the line for any of the enigmas?
but yeah.. i find this interesting.. please update whenever you have more info!

I haven’t seen Duane in a while, but I’ll ask him when I get a chance. I don’t think that there are any cases of head trauma known right now that they have said, but I can ask.

i don’t have any enigmas, plenty of other leos,though... lol

enigma as a morph came out of a colony of bell albinos.
as with any other morph, test breedings and cross breedings were probably done to get this gene to show up or to isolate the other carriers in the colony,
I am not a genetic expert [sic.thought this typo was funnier..lol]
i am not a genetics expert, but i think with any mutation out of an isolated group the new gene only stands to strengthen itself by being outcrossed.

I haven’t heard any recent new developments, only that a few people experienced this, but i know people who have them and have no problems at all./

I have not had any issues yet. I have bred mine to a Raptor and have three eggs cooking. I will let you know how the babies turn out.
