Reviewing the Rules

I don’t think I’ve ever seen anybody use racial, religious, or political towards one another. But, flaming is an issue. A lot if new-bees on the website take a lot of the things that older members suggest to them offesively. We are just trying to help, we all want what is best for the animal. There are many many knowledgeable people on this site, please take their suggestions with an open mind. This is a rare occurance, but their are also times that there are ’trolls’ on the site. Trolls means that all this person wants to do it tick off everyone and stir up something on RepticZone. Please, do not reply to these kinds of threads/post that the troll starts, because usually, someone ends up getting mad, which is what they want. Report them to the Webmaster immediately, and let Doug take care of the issue. Quote: 2.No Advertising Websites, Forums, Chats, For Sale, Sales, Contests, Top Site Programs, or through Images.
I don’t think we have a problem with advertising websites. But, contests are made all the time. Doug made that rule for a reason. Someone will end up with hurt feelings in some way, shape or form, for not winning what the prize was. If someone wants to start a contest, there shouldn’t be judging or voting, to avoid hurt feelings, and there shouldn’t be a prize involved. Also, there shoudln’t be any post about selling your animals/supplies. There is a classified sections on this site, contact the Webmaster for further information on selling your animals/supplies. Most of the time, your ’for sale’ post that are made without permission of Doug, will usually be deleted. Quote: 3.Do not post any copyright information or photos
If someone wants to use someone else’s information on another website, they should have the concent of the person running the site. It should also be put in quotes. There are also people that use other’s photos without concent. Not only is this against RepticZone Rules, it is ilegal, and it can get you in a lot of trouble. Please, use your own images, or ask for permission to use another’s photos. Quote: 4.Do not "hijack" a thread, keep your post consistant with the original post, or please start a new thread.
This is a very common rule that people break. The most common post people get carried away with, is the debate about sand. Please, sand posts usually end up in a major fight. If you have something to say then what’s not on the original thread, you should make another post about it. Sand debates should be taken to PM’s. Comment or answer what’s on the original post. Not that big of an issue. Everyone gives out links, including myself, this rule is taken lightly. Quote: 6.Do not post emails or phone numbers
The only way your going to get your E-Mail or phone number information to someone else is by your profile, or a PM. Your E-Mail address will not appear if you include it in one of your posts. Quote: 7.Do not Spam the Forums with the same post
There are people that put the same post in the general, breeding, and community forum. No matter how many times you post it, your probably going to get the same exact answer. The General Forum is used for asking questions. The Community Forum is used for telling stories, or sharing photos of your pets with everyone. The Breeding Forum is used for asking questions reguarding breeding. When I first joined RepticZone, most of these rules were broken reguarely. I even broke a few of the rules at some point, and probably have done so recently. RepticZone can be a safe, friendly enviornment if everyone atleast tried to lighten up and follow the rules. The rules appear at the top of your screen every time you post a message. There is also a similar post like this, that Ed made, I also suggest you read his post and what other’s have to say also. If anyone has anything else they feel they want to add to this thread, feel free, this site is about opinions, and I’d love to hear them. Thank you for your time... |
