 Our escapee

so Easter morning I was going through all of the snake cages to make sure everyone had water and was alright. I went to look at our 8 month old apricot pueblan milk snake. he loves to burrow so i dig through the aspen where he usually likes to lay and i see him but something is different....he is on the other side of the glass underneath the tank! he apparantly had gotten out during the night and decided falling off the shelf wasn’t worth it so went back to his favorite spot but just on the outside. i have since then changed his lid with my sand boa, who doesn’t climb at all, and put my jewelry box on top of it to give it extra weight (it also has the cage clips on it). so yea, atleast this time it wasn’t bad, but it definitely made me think twice about how smart the little bugger is.

Cute story and pretty snake.
I have velcro on the top of my lid. My family wouldn’t let me keep him after he got out one time unless I could guarentee he couldn’t get out. So.... If some one reads this part and theirs got out with velcro, don’t tell me cause then I’d have to figure out something else. But really, it has worked for nearly a year and he hasn’t gotten out.
