La milk feeding problems
What can I do to get a wc La milk to eat? He is 13 inches Ive had him for 4 days and tried a thawed pinkie with no luck. The man I got him from caught him 6 days before I got him so I know he hadnt eaten in 10 days. I will try a live pinkie tommorrow. Any hints or secrets would be greatly appreciated. Also can a La milk be fed crickets? Thanks!

La milk feeding problems I believe live would be the way to go on a wc, then you can try to convert to f/t later after you get some meals in him. Try leaving the pinkie in overnight with him and go from there. It might help to put the pinky in a toilet paper roll. I did this with one of my shy eaters. He’s probably stressed, so he may need some extra time to acclimate before he eats. I’d also not handle him until he eats.
Got any pictures?

La milk feeding problems I’m not sure what you mean by "La milk". Is it about a Luisiana milksnake (Lampropeltis triangulum amaura)? If so, they are known to be tricky with food even when CB, so I would think that a WC is even more diffikult. If you don’t succeed with a live pinkie, I suggest you try a small lizard.

La milk feeding problems Thank you Candy & Peter. It is a Louisiana milk. I just put "MILKY" (my 3 yr old daughter named him) in a sealed tupperware container(with air holes)with a live pinkie inside a paper bag(also with air holes) and will check on him in 5 hrs. I didnt handle him the first 3 days so he could get used to his cage. His cage is a 20 gal long with 2 hides(cool & warm sides) coco fiber bedding, water bowl big enough to fit in and a rock. I use a 75 watt bulb during the day & a 60 watt red bulb at night. The tempature is 75F cool side & 90F warm side day & 70F & 85F at night. If the pinkie doesnt work I will try the small lizard. I will post pics after I get him to eat. Thank yall again.
Louis

La milk feeding problems The pinkie & the snake are both inside the same container wich was put inside the bag for privacy. I just wanted to make that clear, it sounded a little confusing when I read the post.
