We had 80.6F outside today so I took my large Sinaloan male out for a few minutes. My 6 y o daughter had some problems holding him and my 7 y o son had just about the same holding problems with the camera.



I also found this little female common viper (Vipera berus) basking in the sun. Here in Sweden we only have 3 species of snakes and 3 species of lizards and where we live there are not very many of them at all, so finds like this is a treat.



I managed to perform a real "Austin Stevens" stunt. The adder stroke at the camera, however it was a "blind strike", mouth closed.

I still can’t get over the Sinaloan. You’re lucky to get those wild snake pics. I never can where I live and there are lots of wild snakes in Maryland.

Yeah, the snake is big and strong and my daughter is only 5, so she had some trouble controlling the snake. However she is completely calm with the snake. The only thing she doesn’t like is when the snakes "lick" on her. That’s how she referres to it when the snake flicks it’s tongue. My son is 21 months older than my daughter and he is much more confident when holding large snakes.

I can’t wait until the hubby and I breed, and there are little herpetologists running around underfoot lol :) Again, beautiful pictures of the kids, and of course the snakes :)

i love sweden, my dad is from there, i go there every few years. the wild snake there is an adder.

Yeah, we have only 3 species of snakes in Sweden and only one is venomous. It goes by several different names, but "common european adder" or "common viper" are the most used names in english. Best is of course, to use the scientific name Vipera berus to avoid mistaking it for any other european adder. There are several other species in the southern and eastern parts of Europe.

Hey man, when are you coming over here the next time? Maybe you could bring me a few milks from th S tates
