 Starters

Are Milk Snakes good starter snakes for people. I have 2 leopard gecko’s and a bearded dragon but i really want to get a snake and i don’t no what to start with.

Any help is appreciated thanks x

But for the benefit of those who may not see it, either corns or milk snakes are excellent beginner snakes (although as I noted, watch out; snakes tend to proliferate even if you’re not breeding them); one more difference is likely to be the price. I’ve seen corns as low as $15 or so at a show; milk snakes are usually about $30, but I note Petco has corns for $30-40 and milk snakes are over a hundred. At a local PetSmart--they just started carrying snakes--there’s a nice looking Sinaloan for $100, which is a little high (it’s a yearling), IMHO . . .

Whichever you select, make sure you have a couple of reliable suppliers of rodents; two shops near me have folded (another opened, however), and I’ve taken to raising two ten-gallon colonies of mice but I still find myself buying extras, particularly rats for the bigger snakes (such as Momma and Poppa Corn and the Texas Bull).

Yh i wont get one until at least christmas so i have enough time to research and get properly set up but i cant decide wich type of snake to get.
