I always keep my juveniles in screen top petboxes their whole first year, starting with a pretty small petbox (10" x 6") and working my way up in box size along with the snake’s growth. I think my largest petbox is 20" x 12".

All my terrariums have sliding glass doors and a small snake might be able to escape between the doors. With screen top petboxes this can never happen.
