Usually they grow to about 4’ 4", but sometimes they get way bigger. I’ve got a huge male sinaloan. I have not measured him this year, but last year he was about 5’ 6", weighing 3 lbs.

 Difference Between Sinaloan’s and Nelson’s . . .

Sinaloans generally get a bit bigger and the red bands are wider. Both are really good looking milk snakes, however, and look similar.

Also, I’ve seen albino Nelson’s but haven’t seen an albino Sinaloan (somebody correct me on this one if they have), so it appears the genetic combination for amelanism is being commercially bread in Nelson’s but not Sinaloan . . .

The safest way to tell Sinaloans and Nelsons apart is by looking at the black rings. Sinaloans have rather even black rings, while Nelsons have black rings that get wider over their dorsal part (back). Also, Sinaloans sometimes have white snout, while Nelsons always have white snout.

Sometimes you see specimen that are very hard to determine what they are. They can be mixed since the northeastern parts of the Sinaloan milksnake range overlaps the southwestern parts of the Nelsons milksnake range.

There are albino Sinaloans around too.

I was wondering the growth rate of sinaloans (or any milk snake). I have a sinaloan milk snake and i am not sure about his age. He is about 14 inches long so if you have an estimate age wise please tell.

If the snake has been fed properly I would say it’s about 3 or 4 months old. I keep a couple of Sinaloan juveniles from mid July last year and they are about 20 inches now.
