 PLEASE ANSWER ME

my nelson (hes like 20") pooped 3 times in 3 days. it normally does only once a week and it looks alot different. the first was all a goopy looking brown. next a goopy white. then a normal looking brown in a weird clear liquid. is he sick or something? or is it because he is scared?

 I Don’t Think It’s Anything to Worry About . . .

Milk snakes will "musk" as a defense, and if he/she was startled or stressed, that might’ve been the problem . . .

Give it plenty of water, maybe some quiet time, and follow its regular feeding schedule.

Admittedly, I’ve never had a "sick snake" (beyond a W/C gopher who went on a hunger strike, and just this month took "forever to shed" (and its own sweet time before finally taking down a live sub-adult mouse). As long as they’re eating, they’re probably doing fine . . .

My two Nelson’s don’t even musk anymore . . . They can be kind of boring (daughter named one of them "Sleepyhead"), which is one reason I’m moving towards the "pits" (bulls, gophers, and pines). Well, those and the baby corns that should be here any day now . . .

 I Have One Florida King . . .

I got this one as a hatchling; I was hoping for a dark "chain king" pattern, but when it reached adulthood (she’s about three years old right now) it had "turned speckled" with decided green undertones instead of the original cream and gray . . . I’ll probably trade her at some point for something more in line with my breeding plans . . .

California kings are native to this area (but protected, unlike Great Basin Gophers), but I’ve seen plenty in shops and at shows; I have never cared for the color of albinos (amelanistic) in any of my pets (the mice I raise are all brown, black, or gray, and the tiger barbs in my aquarium are "normal"), but that’s purely a personal preference.

It’s clearly your choice; the other group of snakes I would look at would be corn snakes; their demeanor is always easy going, and there’s a veritable riot of colorful morphs available at reasonable prices.

And none of my corns has reached the four foot mark, yet . . .
