 Confused

i was interested in a sav monitor for my first monitor but i have decied against one as it is my first. so, i have decide to read up loads about varanus acanthurus but i got confussed!!!
erm....is the care the same for all of them because i have been looking at numerous care sheets and it seemed that all the care sheets were for red and yellow ackies. but i have just pulled up a care sheet and it says;
( varanus acanthurus)-spiny tail monitor
so basically what i am asking is the care for red, yellow and spiny tail monitors the same?
because when i looked back it said like
red ackies-varanus acanthrus
yellow ackies-varanus acanthurus
and
spiny tailed-varanus acanthurus
so they all have different common names but the same latin name.

thanks alot hope you understand lol

 Confused

Yellow Ackies are Varanus acanthurus brachyurus, Red Ackies are Varanus acanthurus acanthurus, they are the two most common subspecies of spiny-tailed monitor, Varanus acanthurus. There is a third subspecies Varanus acanthurus insulanicus, however I have never seen this third subspecies available in the pet trade. Once in awhile some other species of dwarf monitors, such as Varanus storri, Storr’s goanna, are also refered to as spiny-tailed or ridge-tailed monitors, however, Ackies are the only species commonly available in the pet trade, others are only very rarely available, so spiny-tailed monitor usually does refer to Ackies, especially in reference to captivity.
So red ackies and yellow ackies are very similar, other than some coloration differences, and care is pretty much the same. And both red and yellow ackies are spiny tailed monitors. If you see a care sheet referring to any of the three, red ackies, yellow ackies, or spiny-tailed monitors, it pretty much does refer to the same species, and they all have pretty much the same care.
If you have any further questions feel free to post, and be careful about the care sheets to rely on, there are definitely some care sheets out there that are complete crap.
