 Ackies or timor

Hey im trying to decide if i should go with the ackies or timor i just want to here wut u guys think of them and witch one i should go with. This will be my first monitor but i have worked with Niles and Savannah’s and waters at the at the store i work at pulse im doing alot of research on both o them ill probably get on later on this summer or Early fall.

Get an ackie. They are hands down the best beginning monitor species. They get up to 2 feet, their caging is not ridiculously expensive, and the food bill is minimal. If you buy a timor, you will never see it. It is not a "pet", which is what most people want in a monitor. It will be a monitor, (It won’t "like" humans, it will only use you for food). I assume you want a good "pet" monitor since this is your first one. Timors are one of the most disappointing captives out there. You will never see them. Ackies are everything a varanid keeper would want. I’ll leave it at that.

I agree. I have three yellow ackie monitors, and they are the best!!!
