Have you had any past expieience with varanids? Timors would be a tricky species to breed. If you are new to keeping varanids, than go with ackies. They are far easier to breed.

Proexotics has a website and a store in Denver , Co. Ackies are more expensive because they are all captive bred wheras timors are all imports. From what I hear timors are a great monitors to keep if you offer lots of hides and don’t handle them. I know of people that have been keeping monitors for 20+ years and are having trouble breeding timors. Ackies would be much better for a begginer, and would be worh every penny, escpecially if you decide to breed them and make money on offspring :).

The problem with breeding timors is that if they are given the opportunity, they will not usually exhibit behaviors openly. As was already mentioned, they do well in an environment with many places to hide. You may have a breeding pair and never even see the female to know wether or not she is gravid or wether or not copulation has occoured, let alone when and where she has laid.
