There are many other small species that are kept in captivity, but availability for most of them is limited.

I’m sure if you looked in the classified section on here or KS, you would find a few peachthroats for sale. (all WC, though)

Angelo,

Don’t go with a peachie. Great monitors but they get big. I really like the caudo/gilleni crosses if you’re looking for a great pet that can be easily housed. They’re very active, fearless, and easy to care for. Here’s a picture of one next to a pure Caudo.



The Caudo has the dots. The cross is the one towards the bottom of the picture. A pure Caudo is about $1500, the cross is only about $300. I really think that they make a much less demanding captive than an Ackie. If you’d like me to take more pics of mine, let me know.
