Thinking of Separating the Little Ones
I have seen no sign of aggression between the two so far. They even share the same burrow under the water dish. I had been thinking of separating for a while, then I saw Mikes hatchling setups and it pretty much made up my mind. I feel like the shier of the two will do better alone where, as Mike said, I can monitor its’ food intake a bit better. The thing that has caused me to hesitate, is the possibility that they may not accept each other when I try to reintroduce them. The cage I’m building is plenty big enough for the two to live in together for a few months and should there be any trouble between the two after the reintroduction in the new environment, I still have an old timor cage as backup. Any experience on the matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Roger |

I had a thick coated wire fenching I used when trying to find a male albig my female didn’t want to kill. I butted the cages next to each other, using the fence as a seperator. They could still see and smell each other but couldn’t hurt each other. I think this might work with two that already know each other. Eventually, you could remove the fence and they would each have their own territory. It’s just a thought I’m throwing out, let me get some more coffee and maybe I’ll think of something else. Scott |
