Baby nile just arrived

i have a baby nile monitor should i put him in my 10ftx10ftx6ft cage or put him in a 55 gal. i have already put him in the bigger cage because i thought it would be better. he is 10 inches long what do you think i should feed him? im feeding him baby crickets and meal worms, do you think i should feed him roaches (small)

Thats a huge enclosure for his present size. How do you know where he is?? Also offer some pinkie mice.

um i dont own niles but i wouldnt put a 10 inch lizard in a 10ft cage it would be really hard to fines him and if he was in a tunnel and you walked in his cage you might step on him and you could feed him small rouches bt feed him large crickets

What ever are you feeding him ’baby crickets’ for? Give him the biggest, fattest, juiciest. Or,
roaches are even better for them. Also, I think superworms are better than meal worms.
Could you not section off part of that huge enclosure, till he’s grown a bit? Be easier to heat him and find him for now. Better to do that, than put him in the 55gal. IMO

Roach nymphs, or adult cut in half/thirds would work. I hate crickets, they stink, they are loud, they die off like crazy, and they aren’t near as nutritious as roaches. Talk to Mike for all you roach needs, his prices are awesome.
