Desert Blend by Zilla fine for a Ackie

I am going to use this substrate is this fine or should I change it to a better kind. I like the feel of it very fine and smooth.

It’s krap. Use sandy dirt.

Could I add in some dirt and maybe some sand? I can’t really take it all out. I thought that the sand is a bad.

Sand is bad because pet stores want to sell you 5 lb bags of calcium carbonate for 8.99

Angelo - nobody goes on the dwarf forum.

You can mix a bunch of sandy dirt to the stuff you already have and see if it holds tunnels well and stays moist down deep without becoming a brick when it dries out. Those are the qualities you’re after in Ackie, or any burrowing monitor, substrate.
