Water monitors I do not plan on getting one since i know very well theyre waaaay out of what I can provide..........but i was wondering.......about how much does it cost to feed a HUGE fully grown water monitor weekly.........and not trying to cut crners or anything but why does it say "adults need an enclosure of 6’ (L) x 3’ (W) x 4’ (min. H) to really thrive" here on NERD? ive read savs need an 8 foot long enclosure here on this forum and theyre saying a 7 foot lizard like a water monitor can thrive in that small of an enclosure?............is this a typo?

Water monitors I’ve seen large adult waters in cages that small, and it is it so freakin sad! I would never do that to my pet. Hopefully its a typo, but who knows.

Water monitors ohhh and if you had a "monitor proof" room and had a large tub and basking spot would it be safe to let these guys free roam? just out of curiousity........once again i cant have one of these................oh yeah and how much does it cost around weekly to feed a large adult?

Water monitors You would have to keep the entire room humid. That would do a number on your drywall over time (along with scratch marks).

Water monitors Pretty incessant for somebody just curious and not considering getting a gigantic 6-7’ lizard that needs a room and at least 10 adult rats per week. Did I mention they live 20 years and don’t reliably become tame at all.

Water monitors rite now my water is 3ft and he is in a 8x4x4. Rite now he has a food bill of about 25 a week. He is only half of his full size so I would say full grown about at lest 60 a week. But when he gets his new " cage" it will be 15x10x8.

Water monitors lol i am very incesstant and very curious and i know i sound a little fishy since im asking very very specific questions but im 16 in new york and i know way better than to bring home a large monitor.......i would like to keep one maybe in a few years, sorry if i seem suspicious its just that i like to narrow everything down ASAP that way when the few years go by i dont save up for one and go "crap" still cant have one.....for now im sticking to the small to medium repiles and invertebrates that i own since that would be smarter...........and ive volunteered at rescues and I have made husbandry mistakes before in the past so i know better than to get something waaaay out of my league...if i did that id just be another one of those jerks who makes it seem "okay" for the government to ban some of the most rewarding exotics
