What did you use to "cover the top more"? The mucus is from too low temps. Is it coming out from his nostrils? I’ve observed this before and to no surprise it never happened again when the monitor was taken out of the screen top cage and kept in an enclosure that can hold proper temps and humidity levels (even at night time). The reason he keeps his head elevated is to try and keep the mucus down and not puke it up. As your said yourself, "there is less mucus coming out". ANY mucus coming out is a bad sign. There might be less now that you bumped up the temps a bit but there is no fix to this problem with that screen top. If you want him ’back to his normal self’ then you should quickly find an enclosure that better suits a monitor rather than accept ’less mucus’ in a fish tank. |
