Savannah monitor is gravid? I think my savannah monitor is gravid. She’s about 13 months old. Her apetite has decreased. Lately she has been sleeping a lot, and digging like crazy. What can I do to help her out. She has a foot of soil. I keep the humidity around 80%. Is there anything else I can do.

Savannah monitor is gravid? Post a photo of your setup, that will determine what advice we can give. In the meantime, have you got an idea of the temperature of the substrate below the surface?

Savannah monitor is gravid? if its to cold in her cage she will slow down her eating and start to dig to go into a slow state of hibernation thats one possibility another is she might be having a clutch of eggs, i don’t know what age they start to produce eggs but my tegu does the same thing for a few weeks never lays the eggs because they are not fertile she absorbs them back into her system. So check your cage temp and possibly add a small container with a lid and a whole just big enough she can get in with some moist sand. If its laying behavior she will go threw her cycle and be back to her normal self in a few weeks

Savannah monitor is gravid? Like Dave said. Post some photos of the sav and cage. Its a little more complicated then a small container with a hole. You will need a container atleast 2 foot deep around 85 degs if she is gravid.
