 Enclosure question

I’m currently building an 8x4x4 cage for a savannah. My question is how do i go about lining the bottom of the cage where the dirt will be. I’m sure I can’t just leave it all wood, right? If you have any suggestions as to what i should do please let me know.

You could use vinyl tile, frp, or latex paint with polyurethane. Just be sure to seal the cracks with calk, or silicone. Also make sure everything is non toxic, and cured before you put your monitor in. These are just a few popular methods.

You can also buy 8’x3’x2’ steel horse troughs. They work well to hold the dirt and you can just build a top right on it.

I used some hard countertop laminate to line mine. Not the soft linoleum that goes on floors, this stuff is hard and is working great so far. Either use that or FRP, I think the prices are about the same.
