Sub adult monitor diet A week ago I got a 3 foot savannah monitor she is about a year old. I want to have her ona largely insect diet. I am looking for a guide on daily feeding amounts I have 300 large dubias to start a colony, breeding 4 inch horn worms, extra laarge crickets, jumbo butterworms, night crawlers(pesticide free) extra large super worms I tried madagascar hissers I ordered several hundred. The hissers are not working she seems to get very frightened when they hiss she squints her eyes closed and wants nothing to do with them. How many of each would people feed a day. Should I judge by watching her weight or is there a round about number because of her size? Any other ideas on large roaches or insects I am ordering mass quantities to start up a bunch of colonies. Maybe fusca roaches.

Sub adult monitor diet The bugs we get here would not compare to giant pedes and such they would eat in the wild.
Best thng to do would be buy those roaches and use those. I would recommend to still use rodents and sm chicks as well. F/ t laid out should be snapped up...if not there may be something wrong with your conditions.
Much of the worms you mentioned are a bit fatty.

Sub adult monitor diet I did offer her two thawed mice She went crazy biting the tongs she charges right on my lap and I am new to her. The insects she likes the huge horn worms but goes through quite a few. It is hard some times to sort through the rodent debate. I figure maybe 70% insects maybe more and oysters ,fish, mice I am just gathering as much variety as I can find.

Sub adult monitor diet The sav should be able to pound down a lot of bugs. I’d feed it a little everyday or every other day. There is no exact amount of what and when. You should be able to judge that. If you notice your lizard become really fat then it’ll be best then to slow down or cut back.

Sub adult monitor diet She will usually have 4 big horn worms she loves chasing the big crickets around but I hardly think she could live on that. I will order some fusca roaches she is very afraid of the hissing cockroaches she was good until it really started to hiss my tegu on the other hand chases them al over and loves them.
