 Argus enclosure

What would be the smallest Argus enclosure I could build. I’ve seen ppl keep them in 8x4x4 but that seems small for a possible 5+ lizard. If I can get by with a 8xxxxx that’s the way ill go.

Thanks

I did 8x4x4 for a while with my argus but it was a bit on the small side for such an active lizard.
Maybe 8x5x6 for a single adult would be fair.

I have two cages, one is 10x5 floor space, the other is an 8x4x4 with an additional 6 foot cube outdoor screen attachment. They’ll certainly live and do ok in an 8 foot cage, but larger will allow them to do more and you’ll enjoy them more. But you need more lights and heat as the cages get bigger.

Males don’t usually get over 5 foot long contrary to everyone saying they do (V.p.horni). I hear people say this but when you actually tape-measure them, it’s like a fish tale. LOL My 8 year old male is 53" long and hasn’t grown much in years that I can see. Another male sent to a different breeder a few years back (Thor!) was 50" exactly and was 5-6 years old. Stephen Foo Fighter’s don’t count tho! His, I suspect, have some Vpp blood in them and are bigger Argus. ;)
