 Hides? ideas please!

I have a baby sav monitor and need some more hides but don’t wanna buy any of those petstore hides(expensive as hell).
Ideas and pictures please

wood, rocks etc. it doesnt need a cave lol it will make hides out of stuff you give it.

I got this stack of tiles 1’ by 1’ each and behind my house in cali is all wilderness so ill go on a lil hike and see what i can come up with. but thanks those ideas got me thinking.

Know this, they like to squeeze into hides, but the best hide is deep sandy soil. so in the enclosure you want 2ft plus. my savannah dug a burrow that seemed incredibly narrow that stretched close to five feet and almost all the way down. provided different temps and humidity. a log or rock wont do that to same degree. but those are also useful.

for my sav i made one out of scrap wood left over from my water monitor cage. exept the hole is at the top of the hide and at the side of the cage.. and i burried it under the substrate so its like a little den under there for him

When certain types of trees are diseased or dead, the large curls of bark come undone. You can carefully remove them and 1/2 bury them in the cage soil/substrate. Works great and free. Stack the curls like a sort of ’Retes board’ thing and it looks natural but very functional to let them choose the heat-level they want to hide in.
