First pic the head kinda looks skink-ish to me. Maybe a dumb question but does the spiked vs a niles "finned" tail mean its not very aquatic?

My pair is only about 8". they do act like there 10’ at times haha. I held a pair for someobe a little ago and they were 3xx the size of these. hopefully i can get some eggs and attempt to hatch them. thats my downfall lol.
