 Smaller monitors.

are there any monitor species that can live their whole life in a 40 gallon breeder or 55 gallon tank. just wondering

Agreed.. Tanks are for fish. I never put any of my reptiles in aquariums and especially not a monitor. It just leads to loss of heat and humidity which monitors need to thrive.

That is a very small space. If they were available in the USA, Brevicauda may be ok in that size but using tanks requires a lot of converting tops to seal things up and 40 gallons is not much for any adult Monitor, even small Mulgas and Brevis.

i was just wondering. i love reptiles and dont want them to be in the wrong incloser. well would they do good in a 4 ft long by 2 ft wide by 2 foot tall home built incloser.

that wouldnt hurt anything but requirements for the dwarfs is ALOT of dirt..... so they would need about 2 feet of dirt. so 4Lx 2Dx 4T . should do but i would use those measurements for a single animal. i would go 6 x 2 x 4. for a pair.
