Looking for "furniture" ideas and a couple other questions

I’ve finally gotten my 8x4x4 enclosure sealed and close to ready to move my asian water monitor into. What I’m learning is that this animal is quite strong and so heavy objects don’t necessarily mean secure, and I’m a little concerned if I go heavy with things it will more likely lead to a crushing accident. So far I’ve added a hide on stilts, its framed with 2x4s and 8 inches above the floor when the 9 inch substrate is added it should give my monitor the ability to dig in and out without me having to worry about weight shifting and the animal getting pinned. the water bowl will be on the bottom to prevent digging under. Then a ramp leading to a 2ftx2ft basking spot. As is it still seems somewhat empty. I’ve been considering adding a length (or 2) of plastic gutter, upside down it should make a decent place to hide and chase insects but I’m not quite certain thats the way to go. (the animal is around 2 ft, with a stance around 4 or 5 inches wide)
Any suggestions on this would be great.

I’ve also been wondering (since I have yet to find a thread) are there skin conditions monitors are prone to? I know from snakes and turtles that too much moisture can lead to some ugly health problems and just assume the same is true with monitors, but assumption can lead to the wrong answers as easily as the right one.

My final question for now is about d3 supplements. I’ve happened across claims that with water dragons over supplementing can and has lead to kidney failure. Is it also true of monitors that over supplementing can / will become an issue? Again its something that I assume but don’t really know.
Thanks for your time.
