#2275231 Dahawks02 View Profile	Dirt Simple question: How long does an area need to be pesticide free in order to use it in a cage? My veg. garden has perfect black dirt but I used some insect killer on it 2 months ago. I’m just wondering how long I have to wait in order to use the dirt. Greg

You want SANDY DIRT that holds tunnels when moist. Think desert xeric soils, not gardening black organic potting soils.

Play with the ratio and moisture until you get the consistency you want. If you know there were pesticides in the soil, I would just avoid them all together.
