 How do i take care of my Savannah
i just got a Savannah on 02/13/05.How should i hold him i’m scarred he’s going to bite me should i hold him with a glove or not? When he bites does it hurt? what is the basic for taking care of him or her? All i know is what the pet store tells me. Can you please help me. I want to tame him is it possible?If so how do i?

i’m not even going to ask you what everyone will say and has been saying ("why did you get the animal if you know nothing about it?") but i have to ask, if your afraid of it, then why would you buy it? i’m not being rude im just curious. i don’t have a savannah but plenty of people here do, check out the caresheets and posts on this forum. anything that shvar or bayoubeasts says is good advice. i think bayou might have a caresheet on boscs on this site as well. good luck.

thanks We have a iguana he always wanted a Savannah so i got it for him.yes i’m afraid of him biting me of course. i know he is going to bite me i would just like to be prepared when he does. as far as me not knowing anything about him i do a little i just would like to know more.I’m not Daniel i am Kay Daniel is not scared but i am.So please just let me know. 1.how big is your cage 2. how big is he 3. what does the inside of your cage look like? answer these and i may be able to help you need dirt for the bedding a basking area of about 125 degrees a dish big enough to submerge himself in a hiding spot and a cool side of the cage of about 75 degrees and this is only a little bit of what is required u should have read on them and gathered some information on them before buying one not to get on your case im just giving you advice and you dont need to be scared because he will know if you ar scared and he wil know he can get the best of you so dont be scared if hes little he may be kinda skidish around his new enviorment its new to him remember that it does not hurt when they bite you when there little u have to let them know you dso not scare them the worst he will do to you is bite or whipe yo and that is nothing they are so much smaller than you so you should not be scared of something so little just slowly pick him up from underneath and dont move him around fast let him calm down a bit and also hold him to where he feels safe they will shake and twitch sometimes and your first instinkt is to drop him well dont he is just scared have im lay on your forearm against you chest so he feels safe and feels like he wont fall there is nothing to be scared of there like new puppy there triny to get used to there new enviornment have no fear and holding him and do not use gloves they are really gentale creatures if u tame them right they all have different personalitys so show him there is nothing to be afraid of if u want even better information if this has done u any good ask SHvar or Bayou Beast cameron
