Feeding Savannas For a savanna monitor do you have to feed it every day? At the pet store they say that they only feed theres once a week is’nt that for snakes !! But how many times do you feed your monitor a week. Will it die if you feed it every week or just be skinny and not healthy? But if you feed it to much will it eat it self to death like fishys. And when do you stop feeding it when they stop eating it?repticZ

Feeding Savannas
When young if you have the setup right . They can and will eat every day. I think once a week for monitors is just cruel. Even my milksnake will eat more then that ......if Offered .

Eddy stops when hes full but i dont gorge him to often The mouse in the picture is #3 But he is feed pretty much every day.(at least offered food) They grow so fast when young it would be hard to overfeed. I cant even imagine the number of mice a hungry BT would eat . When adult you need to limit feeding to fight obeseity. And yes mice are the best base diet for monitors. The person who told you otherwise is probably the same one who feeds once a week. Buy his monitor just to save it from his Dumba$$ .

Feeding Savannas So i can feed my monitor every day or at least 3 times a week. And i feed him until he gets full and stops? could you like skip a 2 days and then just feed him the mice he wishes to have? And he would still be happy and healthy.repticZ

Feeding Savannahs
yep every day or every other day is fine. You will see sometimes they take a few day off on their own . at 12" one mouse should make him fat and happy. When he is ready for more you will know..... cause the first one will be gone real quick but the lizard will still be looking at you like.......hey where is the rest.
