24 hour lighting I use 24/7 lighting because it gives the critter the option to bask when it wants to. It also keeps the temps constant, no waiting for heat in the morning. As for an argus, I am sure you are learning like I am that they are almost always up digging and looking for food. I have yet to find a way to put the waterbowl where it won’t be filled with mud in a few hours. But Man , aint they fun?Scott

24 hour lighting
Hi, I don’t like to start arguments so if 1 starts I will not continue with this post. You should not give your lizard more than 12 hours of light a day. They do not have 24 hours of light in the wild so why should they in captivity? If it is heat and basking you are worried about i would get a infared night light. It will produce heat without distirbing the sleep pattern of your monitor. Again this is just my opinion from years of experience and studying. Mike

Every animal pictured here.. Are kept under 24/7 basking lights. The idea is that the animals have options with 24/7 lighting, after all if kept properly they have burrows, hides, etc. Why do you think they have eyelids? They can close their eyes to sleep, light doesnt disturb any cycles, heat is what they respond to, they are ectotherms, not phototherms.my reptiles.
