 Bosc monitor!
i have a two year old monitor, can i get him a mate or does he have to live on his own now? also what kind of sand or something can i put in the bottom of his cage ?

just go in your back yard and dig up some dirt its the best for them it holds borrows and humidty but make sure there nothing toxic in the dirt

Sure you can get it a mate. The problem is figuring out if it’s a male or female? At 2 years old you can ussualy tell the sex of a sav from the bulges at the tailbase, the head shape and nostril placement. Or, you can watch it evert or pop it and know what you are looking at.
Post some pics of the head, side and top view and the tail base, side and bottom view we can have a guessing game.Scott
