 Water Monitor wont eat

I have a three foot water monitor who extemely healthy and well taken care. Lately he is starting to refuse crickets. He loves mice and will eat as many as I will give him, which is a lot. Is his behavior normal or should I keep trying with the crickets?

All monitors will get sick of chaseing crickets once they get to the point where they are loosing more than what they would gain chasing them. At 3 foot he is beyond crickets get some roaches.

If your water monitor is three feet, you shouldn’t be worrying with crickets anyway. He should be eating mostly f/t rodents, maybe a couple chicks every now and then, and some BIG feeder roaches, such as Madagascar hissers (grompondorina portentosa) or giant cave roaches (blaberus giganteus). Smaller roaches can be used, but a three foot monitor will prefer larger ones.
