Question about lights

Ok i have my nile monitor in a 30 gallen and i have a 45 watt flood light and he will not basking under the light at all.. he stays on the cool side or in his hide.. i was wondring if he could be scared of the light LoL

i know i’m a pain butt and i know this is a stupit qiestion..

Ok Bumpy, You nile probally aint basking because you have it in a small aquarium and it doesn’t have enough temp choices.
It is probally hot anywhere it goes.

Do you know how big niles get? It is going to need a habitat alot bigger than that.

Yesi know how biug they get my nile is only 9 1/2 inches so a 55 will be fine..
