 Male or Female? Plus a few other questons...

Ok i just got pics of my foot long savannah monitor. I’ve had him almost a month now and i’m wondering if anybody can tell me if it’s a male or female.





I can get close ups of specific areas/body parts if necessary.

One other thing, i was reading in another topic about captive bread and wild caught monitors. I don’t really know much about the history of mine except that he was passed around and resold a minimum of 4 times already. I don’t know how much my neighbor originally paid for him(i’ll have to ask), but i got him for $60 from my neighbor. Is there any way of telling wether he was captive bred or imported?

Unless someone bought it from ccreptiles at a high price it was imported. Personally after keeping a few other species of monitor over the years I wouldnt want another bosc. I have people offer to give them to me alot. This happens frequently with mass imported cheap WC monitors or any species like that.

Ok thanks, when will you be able to tell?

I’m pretty sure he was imported then. If somebody payed alot of money for them, i doubt that they would just give him up to a petstore for being aggressive.
