 Grizzly man

What I got from the movie (well besides that fella is a fruity nut cake)

Is his relationship with the bears was not as a friend as he saw it. Instead it was only as the bear sees a fly, flower, squirrel, fox, rock, etc.. Well all but the old bear that decided he looked more like a salmon and ate him. If your not part of its diet , your not hurting it, or getting in its way at the wrong time, then the bear has no reason to do anything other then what you saw. Sniffing to see what this new creature was etc.. I am sure it took him awhile to build up the trust with those bears, eventually they didn’t fear him.

Now on the other hand his relationship with the fox was greater. He really got very close to them. They followed him and looked to him as one of their own. It was what he thought he was getting from the bear but in reality was not.

In the end we were only left with "sometimes you get the bear, and sometimes the bear gets you"

grizzly man showed a fool who crossed the line with wild bears - what do you expect? A novice in close quarters with an apex predator and is liable to get killed - as he was. He allowed his ego to get the best of him, and so did the bear...being eaten alive is perhaps not what he deserved (as a death-row inmate surely deserves = agonizing painful death), but it happens that way sometimes....you play with fire, you’re liable to get burned. Maybe this thread should be on the Yogi-Bear.com forum?
cheers,

I didn’t even need to see the movie. That guy was a retard. He got the bear killed actually. He made a bad name for bears too. What a moron.

I seen this had to say something, he spent 13 years doing this to protect the bears, there is lots of poaching goin on in alaska, for one man to do that it takes guts, and he was eating by the bears he was protecting so u call him a nut, what gives you the right to say what he was doing was wrong, way i look at it is he gave his live for these bears and would rather die him self than a bear dieing, but in the end he was doing what he loved, atleast someone was trying to save them, GOD Bless the Grizzly Man.

the fact of the matter is his mind set. if he wanted to work with bears and promote conservation he should do it legally by starting a rescue or a land conservation like doug seuss. the reason doug is successful is because he gets his message out through movies and shows legally. he can bring a bear to the school and show kids how important they are. he can have brad pitt or jennifer aniston wrestle with bart to promote public awareness and publicity. he doesn’t need to break the laws and go to schools with nothing more than the message of his personal obsession with bears. steve irwin is a nut but he spends his time rescuing, relocating,raising,re-releasing animals and doing public things all while managing a zoo. he does not camp out with the crocodiles to see if they will accept him in their wild lives.

wild is wild leave it that way unless you have to interfere. if he wanted to get his message out he should have done it legally and sanely like doug seuss and many other refuges and zoos. i did not see him preaching about conservation and taking on governments for poaching and land contracts. i saw him camping out with wild animals to push his popularity for his own selfish reasons as well as getting a scared innocent woman killed. she had no reason to be up there and neither did he. if you work with wild animals you know how dangerous they become. even worked with hand raised ones can be unpredictable. why think you could live with truly wild ones? it is just plane stupid and two very important and wonderful lives were ended 1.) the young lady and 2.) the poor bear.
