They are captive bred, durable (much more so than any tree monitor species), and are arboreal throughout most of their range. Provided that you properly set up the enclosure for them, they will use every square inch of space offered to them. If you want a climber, I would say that this is your best bet. Of course, these don’t like, nor do they respond well to handling either. If you really want an animal that you can pet, or hold, I suggest going with something other than a monitor. |

the thing is id get a sav but i dont have the floor space and my mom doest want a 4ft lizard running around or wanting to eat her poodle but if u say tristis would be ok ill look into them could u get me a good care sheet and i also herd about a monitor its called varanus mitchelli and i was wondering how they where in captivity |
