do you already have the sav or are you soon to get one?
if you are soon to get one i suggest setting it up like this-
40/30 gallon breeder tank
6-10" of soil/sand/vermiculite (2:1:1) mixture as substrate
water dish
a retes stack or two
a 20-45 watt halogen bulb
digital therm with probe

that would be for hatchlings

I caught one in my back yard and Im going to keep it. But I want to make a cage for him when he will be full grown that way he will never have to go through the stres of moving to another cage.

the stress of going to another cage (if there would be any stress) would be nothing compared to a small savy in a huge cage meant for an adult. he’ll be extremely scared and will always try to hide and you will have no chance in taming him. def go with the 30 or 40 breeder while he’s small, they need to be able to see you and people coming and going, to start having any chance of trusting you. a cage that is like 8 ft by 4 ft AT LEAST will be way to big for your little sav and it will be very stressed out.

I hate to dissagree with you Lizardking but, I built a huge enclosure for a juvie savannah and she uses all of it. Her’s a pic. It’s 12 ft. front, 6 ft, back, 4 ft wide and 3 ft tall. fits in a bay window.

Yes Im sure. I have done some reading on monitors and my vet also told me. When I caught him he was very cold and skinny but he looks great now. He eats VERY good. Today was his 5th feeding and he ate 6 crickets!
