Terky! is that like tofurky or saitan? Whole prey only, raw meat is not a suitable prey item. Monitors need whole foods, whole mice ( see, I still recomend them!) insects, shellfish, fowl, etc. Feeding raw meat/ incomplete prey is not o.k for these guys, they need all the nutrients that bones, guts, blood, etc offer. Cheers, Ben |

Message To: Dumgener8ion In reference to Message Id: 916772 I agree, the meat and protien is only one ingredient in..
The hair, skin, feathers, nails, bones, guts, digestive contents, brain, connective tissues, etc etc are all part of a balanced diet that they need. I dont even feed my dog or cat raw meat alone with their raw diet. The cat eats whole ground horse (the entire horse minus hair, stomach, and intestines) with other vitamins, etc added. My puppy eats a well rounded raw diet with multiple sections of turkey, chicken, beef, as well organs, and many other parts to help round it out as well, veggies etc. Monitors need every part of the prey they eat. |
