 What is this?


ok at the rep show they had this lizard they said was just like a bearded dragon! The same requirements and all and that it was only $15 so I got her number and all and I took a pic I just want to know what the name is where I can do some research and read caresheets....They called it the "Teh poor man’s bearded dragon". Thanks for teh help!!!

Um I’ve heard that phrase, the poor mans bearded dragon, but I’m not sure where I heard it...Either way, my guess is it’s some species of agama. They are fairly similar to beardies in that they need hot dry habitat, but all the ones I know of are pretty jumpy and flighty/nervous, and don’t like to be handled. They eat insects and vegiies occassiionally...the one in the picture looks pretty dehydrated and not in very good shape at all, otherwise it probably wouldn’t have been that calm and okay with being held...that’s my best guess!

I agree it doesn’t look like it’s in the best of shape. Also agree it’s an agama. It looks like what my book is calling a ground agama. agamaaculeata.
