MHD not eaten for 3 days! is this normal? I bought my son (10) a beautiful MHD named Luigi for x-mas! About 8 inches long, he ate 3 large meal worms that day, 3 days later ate a night crawler but no has not eaten since. We built him a tank that is 3’Hx2"wx18"L. It has a 12x6 water pool with bubbles, cypress bedding, a large live tropical plant, lots of climbing areas. The temp stays about 72 and the humidity is about 58 to 65 consistently with twice a day mistings. We are worried that he will not eat consistently nor does he venture into the water? thoughts? We will add photos of the tank soon.

MHD not eaten for 3 days! is this normal? Hi! Merry christmas. Good info, that actually sounds pretty normal, even really good and better than normal, that he ate the same day you got him, since it seems to be normal for them to not eat right away, and the fact that he ate a nightcrawler for you already is a good sign that he’ll be a good eater for you...I would say get the temp up to around 80/82 degrees during the day on the warmer side, but the humidity sounds about right so long as your misting a few times a day to raise it higher for a little while...I don’t always see mine visit the water pan, so as long as he eats every few days, and especially if he eats a nightcrawler or two at those times, and he poos somewhere, that is a good and normal sign! Pothos is a good plant, I have it in alot of my frog tanks and it does help with humidity and aesthetics a bit...

MHD not eaten for 3 days! is this normal? My grown males don’t eat as much as my females. I agree with Deri’s advice.

MHD not eaten for 3 days! is this normal? Our aduts sometimes eat every other day but the breeding females usually eat everyday. My babies eat every day. It’s been my experience that when you move them to a different location they will sometimes hold off eating unless they are hungry from not getting enough food from where ever you got them. I also agree with Deri’s advice. My ambient temp has a gradient from 72 - 78 with basking areas in the mid 80s. They will move up to the basking area ocassionally but they mostly hang out around the part of the enclosure that is 78 degrees. Good luck! Angie

MHD not eaten for 3 days! is this normal? All of you are fantastic! My son was getting very wrorried, I will let him read this and hopefully it will make him feel better> he has worked really hard on the enclosure. I built it from glass purchased at home depot but he arranged everything! I have to say thatI was impressed.....its a place I would want to stay if I were Luigi! I hope he continues to do well. He is very very friendly. Your web site is very cool, we will get pictures out to you, can we see your MHDs and enclosures, were excited to be part of this group and thank you all very much for the advice!

MHD not eaten for 3 days! is this normal? I post mine on Photobucket and transfer them to a thread as needed. Once you have them posted on Photobucket click on direct link and copy. Come back to your post and drop down a line or two then click on image maker and paste code in box then onto the thread. Here is my grandaughter with one of my babies.
If you want to post them here go to members area--then member link--then photo server and follow prompts. To post those you click on get your photos. Hope that is understandable. I’m not really very good with computers.

MHD not eaten for 3 days! is this normal? I normally post the pics on Photobucket and copy the img link to my posts. There are tons of pics that I’ve posted in past threads - look down the list and click on the ones with my screenname and the picture indicator. We’ve had several posts requesting pics of set ups and so on so there are a lot of those on here too. I’m behind on updating the progress of the babies so I’ll shoot some current set ups and put that up when I catch that thread up. Also check FroggieB’s site..sorry, can’t remember if you guys read that or not...Angie
