 Lump on jaw..........

Tomorrow I have to make a vet appointment for my MHD, she has a lump near the back of her jaw (bottom) on the right side. She is eating and seems well hydrated, but I noticed this abnormality today. What do you think that could be? I can’t see a sore or anything, just a swelling...... I’m really worried....

Anyone? My vet is out of business, and I am looking for another one within driving distance. It appears on further inspection to be an abcess.

We have taken in over the years a few with problems like you describe. All were wild caught adults. Two had abscesses that were treated by a vet the other actually had a broken jaw. The vet could do nothing for him so we cared for him as long as he was alive. All I can say is try to get to a vet.

I took her to the vet today and got antibiotics. He seemed to think it was fairly minor, and she’s still eating great, so I think she will be fine.
