HELP!
I got a new dragon on February 16th and i havent seen him eat by himself. I force fed him on saturday about five small crickets because I was worried. I dont know what to do.
My friend said not to force feed him because he may stop eating. She said to watch the cricket population.
Someone else told me to try some different insects.
What should i do?
Please help ASAP!!

HELP! You can try small wigglers, meal worms or small hornworms. The hornworms always worked for me. Are you sure he’s not eating? They can be very secretive.

HELP! Also, if the temps are low he won’t eat much. Don’t know how much you are handling him but he might just need to be left alone to adjust. Mine seem to like to eat a bit after being misted.
but not first thing in the morning.
Marcia and I agree there is some separation anxiety when they are separated from siblings so that may also be a factor. Just keep trying.

HELP! I think I’m handling him a little to much I held him once today trying to get some help from a friend but then I put him back.
I held him a lot yesterday because I had to take out some of the fake greens. He seemed to get really angry at anyone else that got to close to him. He even tries to threaten anyone that get to close to his cage. Its cute.
I was going to take more of the fake plants out and stick in to real ones, but i think I’ll wait.
I think I’m going to try and get another heat source in there at the bottom or something. I think it getting to cold sometimes.
And I will get different bugs for him.

HELP!
Yes deff try other sources of food. Mine didnt eat crickets much unless she was just in the mood. I got mealworms from the petstore and she actually ate them. If you get worms, wax worms are good in protien but dont feed her/him all the time with those. You can put them in a little clear dish so they cant crawl out and so you can monitor her eating. Mine never ate in front of me either they feel threatened.. like ur gonna take their food, so just leave for a couple hours. Also, make sure her habitat is very humid. She also needs UVB and a good basking source. I built a wire cage for mine and lost much humidity. Also, try to not stress her by keeping her up at night. Make sure she has a heat source at night, red bulb works and the rest of the lights around her and in her home are off. They need a certain amount of time to sleep and be awake just like us. Make sure IF you put real plants in, they arent toxic. Fake ones, like silk ones are good. I held mine A LOT and for long periods of time and I think she became too timid for me to notice when she got sick. Read up on these lizards.. I didnt and paid for it. Plus, I bought mine at a pet store, and they didnt tell me anything about her.. she had parasites..as well as other sickness so I would take her to the vet if she doesnt start eating. One more thing, dont force feed crickets b/c if her body isnt digesting properly (for many reasons, no UVB, not warm enough, no proper calcium, stress, etc) she could get impacted (constipated) and that could do damage! If she looks skinny, give her warm bathes daily to keep her hydrated too. UVB also helps a lot!! Calcium dust is important too, just put the insects in a bag and put some in there and shake it..u can mist them prior to help the dust stick. Hope this helps, good luck with your lizard!!!
